How to Prioritize Opportunities When Everything Feels Important

The higher you climb, the noisier it gets. Every day brings new opportunities—partnerships, products, markets. Say yes to everything, and you spread yourself thin. Say no too often, and you risk missing big plays.

The trick is having a filter. Ask yourself these questions before even giving something an extra thought.

  • Does the opportunity align with your vision?

  • Does it serve your best customers?

  • Does it move the needle on revenue or enterprise value?

If it’s not a clear “yes” on at least two of those, it’s probably a distraction. Growth comes from staying focused.

It also could be a “great opportunity,” but revisit at a later date situation. Whatever it is, take a step back and analyze how this decision fits into the big picture.
